Glow – Christmas illuminations
Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 29 November to 15 December
4.30pm – 7.30pm
Enchanting light displays create a magical welcome for all the family as you approach the Walled Garden, with Nest Tearoom serving all your festive favourites. The magic continues as you follow the twinkling lights to discover the Castle dressed for Christmas, with new areas open and atmospheric new displays for 2024, this is one experience not to miss!
Take part in Santa’s Workshop Trail, hunt for the clues hidden around the Castle and receive a treat for your efforts! The trail costs £2 per child.
Live music from local choirs and groups will be in the Lesser Hall each weekend.

Do I need to book?
Yes, due to the popularity of Glow everybody attending must pre-book an arrival slot. BOOK HERE
Tickets are limited, please book to avoid disappointment.
However, if you visit the Castle/Grotto in the daytime (adult tickets purchased on arrival) you can use that ticket for GLOW on that evening only, with no need to book!
How much does it cost?
We have taken the decision to charge a small fee for Glow this year. This will allow us to continue to invest in and improve the experience each year, creating a truly special and memorable experience, whilst keeping it affordable for our local community.
Tickets: Adult £2.50, Child (4-16) £1.50
All free entry tickets also need to be booked online. These include:
- Annual pass holder (bring your pass along on the evening)
- Carew parish resident*
- Wheelchair user
- Accompanying carer (please see list of accepted documentation HERE)
* Proof of address is required for all adults in the group.

Kids Christmas Craft Workshop
Fridays 8 and 15 November, 4pm – 5pm
Join a fun after school session to create some fabulous festive crafts. Materials will be provided and staff will be on hand to help produce some yuletide masterpieces!
All children must be accompanied by an adult. One adult only per child as space is limited.
Festive drinks and cakes will be available to buy.
£6 per child. Accompanying adults do not need a ticket.
All tickets are non refundable. Suitable for age 4+

Santa’s Grotto
Every Saturday and Sunday from 30 November to 15 December
10am – 4pm
Santa has been busy all year preparing for the festive season but has found time to stop off at Carew Castle. He’ll be waiting to meet you in his magical Grotto hidden within the Castle walls. Come along to meet him, tell him how you’ve been good this year and he’ll give you a gift for Christmas.
How much does it cost to see Santa?
It costs £8 per child to meet Santa and receive a gift, booking is essential. BOOK HERE
Is there a charge for the rest of the group?
ALL those accompanying a child to the Grotto MUST purchase a valid Castle entrance ticket.
Tickets include daytime entry to the Castle and evening entry to Glow for that day/evening only.
Accompanying tickets are priced at:
Adult £3, Conc. £2.50 (65+), Child (4-16) £1.50 (not seeing Santa)
Accompanying tickets must be purchased on arrival at the Castle, proof of Grotto tickets purchased will be required. Ensure you keep all tickets if you wish to return for Glow that evening.

Santa has moved his Grotto into the Castle! Please allow time to walk from the Shop to the Castle.
Is the grotto accessible for all?
Yes, the Grotto is on the ground floor of the Castle.
Will the Tearoom be open?
Yes, Nest Tearoom will be open serving festive treats including our fabulous luxury hot chocolates and mulled wine!
