Your ancient adventure awaits!
Come and visit our Iron Age village where you will meet friendly members of our tribe (between 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm) who will tell you all about life in the Iron Age. You will have the opportunity to have a go with a slingshot (weather permitting), watch a demonstration of an ancient craft or skill and be painted with beautiful blue patterns. A guided tour of the village is also included in your admission fee at 11.30am and 2.30pm.

Experience the Iron Age with no loud or noisy activities or demonstrations. Normal admission applies.
Taith Tywys Cymraeg (addas i ddysgwyr)

Although we can provide our sessions bilingually, these sessions are aimed at visitors who would like their experience entirely through the medium of Welsh. These sessions are also suitable for those who are learning Welsh. Normal admission applies.

Fun in the Fort
Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 October
Try a variety of hands-on prehistoric activities, enquire at reception upon arrival to find out what sessions will be running during your visit. Additional fee applies plus normal admission.
Haunted Henllys Trail
Saturday 26 October – Sunday 3 November
The Veil between this world and the next is at its thinnest and the ghosts and monsters have started to come out! Walk the woods, and hunt for the spirits and monsters that have appeared. Capture their image or write down their names to claim a prize!
SPECIAL EVENTS
Ancient Textiles Workshop
Saturday 7 September and Sunday 13 October, 11am-4pm
Learn the textile techniques of our ancestors to create your own piece of prehistoric textile. During this workshop you will be introduced to the basics of spinning, weaving and dyeing.
£35 per person (includes admission to the Iron Age Village and all materials). Tickets non-refundable. Places limited to six per session. Suitable for children over 12 years old accompanied by a paying adult.
Home Education Day – Iron Age
Wednesday 9 October 10.30am-2pm
A chance for home education families and groups to experience the school’s program at Castell Henllys. Pupils will be taken back in time for a session led by our costumed interpreters. Our school’s program is designed for KS2 and is aimed at children aged 7-11 and older children are welcome to attend with younger siblings.
£8 per child. Includes one free adult admission per family group.
Samhain/Noson Calan Gaeaf
Thursday 31 October 10am-4pm
As the days become shorter and winter draws closer, join the villages as they celebrate Noson Calan Gaeaf. Enjoy hands on activities and storytelling before gathering around the fire for the afternoon celebration.

Dark Skies and Bright Stars
Friday 1 November 6pm-9pm
Join us for a dark sky evening at Castell Henllys celebrating the wonder of Pembrokeshire’s night sky. We will explore why dark skies are important to us and our wildlife. Weather permitting, we will then take a night walk up to the Iron Age Village for a spot of stargazing with telescopes. Suitable for adults and children 11+. Sorry no dogs on this event. Tickets are non refundable. £10 per person.
Winter Solstice
Saturday 21 December 11am-3.30pm
The shortest day is here. Celebrate by trying some festive crafts or listening to stories by the fireside. As the day draws an end, we will light the bonfire (weather permitting) and there will be a chance to meet the Mari Lwyd!
