Experience the Iron Age

Your ancient adventure awaits!
Come and visit our Iron Age Village where you will meet friendly members of our tribe (10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm) who will tell you all about life in the Iron Age. You will have the opportunity to have a go with a slingshot (weather permitting), watch a demonstration of an ancient craft or skill and be painted with beautiful blue patterns. A guided tour of the village is also included in your admission fee at 11.30am and 2.30pm.
Experience the Iron Age Quiet Morning
Every Sunday, 10am-12 noon
Experience the Iron Age with no loud or noisy activities or demonstrations. Normal admission applies.
FAMILY ACTIVITIES
Druid Magic
Tuesday 15 and Tuesday 22 April 11am, 1pm and 2.30pm. Booking Essential.
Druids of Iron Age Britain were knowledgeable, wise, and secretive. Join a hands-on session to learn some of their secrets, including fire lighting, bread making and face painting. Ages 7+. £7 per child plus normal admission. Booking Essential.

Fun in the Fort
Wednesday 16 and Wednesday 23 April from 11am
Try a variety of hands-on prehistoric activities including, enquire at reception upon arrival to find out what sessions will be running during your visit. Additional fee applies plus normal admission.
Discovery Day
Thursday 17 and Thursday 24 April 11am-4pm
Each Thursday of the school holidays there will be a chance to explore a one of a variety themes or time periods through a different hands-on activity each week. Additional fee applies plus normal admission.
Spring trail
Saturday 5 April to Sunday 27 April
The winter fades, and the time of new beginnings has arrived. Find the signs of spring throughout the woods. Take a photo or write them down to claim your prize.
£2 plus normal admission.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Spinning Workshop
Sunday 30 March 1pm-4pm
Learn the basic techniques needed to create your own yarn from fleece. A relaxed half day introduction to spinning wool using a drop spindle.
All materials and tuition included. Suitable for children over 12 years old accompanied by a paying adult. Booking Essential, tickets non-refundable £25 per person, includes admission to the Iron Age Village .
Family Spinning Workshop
Sunday 13 April 11am-12.30pm, and 1.30pm-3pm
Learn the basic techniques needed to create your own yarn from fleece. A relaxed 1.5 hour introduction to spinning wool using a drop spindle suitable for families.
All materials and tuition included. Suitable for children over 6 years old accompanied by a paying adult. Booking Essential, tickets non-refundable. £18 adult £16 child, includes admission to the Iron Age Village.
