Location information for filming enquiries

This page provides initial information, which may be useful for those interested in filming on land in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

Ownership of the National Park

The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is not owned by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority. The Authority does own parcels of land within the Park, along with many other landowners. Permission should be sought from the relevant landowner prior to any filming being undertaken. If you wish to film on National Park Authority land, a charge may apply and you may be required to complete a licence agreement.

Key locations where land is owned by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority

Please note: This information is intended as a guide – you will need to check whether the exact location you are considering is under our ownership. For a map showing all the areas the Park Authority owns or manages, visit our filming page.

  • Beaches
    • The National Park Authority leases almost all the foreshore (area between high and low tide mark, outlined in yellow on the map on our filming page) along the Pembrokeshire Coast from The Crown Estate (the owners). So if you wish to film on the foreshore please contact the National Park Authority to discuss permission. There are several key locations which are not leased by the Authority, namely Amroth and Tenby’s North, South and Castle beaches, all of which are managed by Pembrokeshire County Council, which can be contacted by emailing PressPublicRelations@pembrokeshire.gov.uk.
  • Pembrokeshire Coast Path National Trail – the Park Authority only owns small pockets of land along the Path – they are included in the areas outlined in red on the map on our filming page.

    • The Pembrokeshire Coast Path National Trail is 186 miles long, running from Amroth in the south to St Dogmaels in the north. It passes across beaches and through towns and villages. Different sections of the Path are owned by different organisations and individuals so please note it is not possible to receive blanket permission to film along the whole of the Coast Path. If you would like to film in a particular location on the Coast Path and you are not sure about ownership, please contact us. For more information on the Coast Path, visit the Pembrokeshire Coast Path National Trail website.
  • Carew Castle and Tidal Mill – the site is managed by the National Park Authority. For more information visit the Carew Castle website.
  • Castell Henllys Iron Age Village – the site is owned and managed by the National Park Authority. For more information visit Castell Henllys website.
  • Oriel y Parc Landscape Gallery and Visitor Centre – the site is owned and managed by the National Park Authority. For more information visit the Oriel y Parc website.
  • The Preseli Hills (also known as the Preseli Mountains) – the National Park Authority owns small parcels of land (they are included in the areas outlined in red on the map on our filming page) but the vast majority is privately owned.
  • Car parks and parking areas – the National Park Authority manages around 40 car parks and parking areas; we charge on 14 of these (which are included in the areas outlined in red on the map on our filming page). For more information view our parking page.
