Carew Castle presents a season of classic stories under the stars
A spectacular summer of outdoor drama is set to unfold at Carew Castle over the coming weeks, as its popular Open Air Theatre programme commences.
The first performance at the iconic Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority-run attraction will take place on Tuesday 16 July, with a production of Louisa May Alcott’s beloved coming of age story, Little Women.
Featuring authentic costuming and a beautiful musical score, this uplifting Chapterhouse Theatre production follows the March sisters’ journey into adulthood and all the trials and triumphs that come with it.
Suitable for ages 8+, doors open at 5.30pm and the show starts at 6.30pm.
On Tuesday 6 August, multi-award nominated Immersion Theatre invite you to soar away to Neverland as they proudly bring their trademark energy to their most magical musical to date, Peter Pan.
Filled with catchy music, lots of audience interaction, and a laugh-a-minute script, this hilarious and exciting musical of the boy who never grew up promises to have every member of the family ‘hooked’ from beginning to end.
The show is suitable for ages 4+ and has a running time of approximately 100 minutes, including the interval. Gates open 4.45pm, and the show starts 5.30pm
The final performance of the summer will be Chapterhouse Theatre Company’s brand new re-telling of Beauty and the Beast on Wednesday 21 August. In this adaptation of the classic fairytale, an arrogant prince, cursed to live as a hideous beast, finds his only hope in a kindly young woman in search of a rose.
Presented with lively original music and sparkling humour this rollicking new adaptation of Beauty and the Beast is perfect for all the family. Doors open 4.45pm and the show starts at 5.30pm.

Those attending are advised to bring a rug or low-backed chair to sit on, a picnic and suitable clothing to ensure they’re settled in for an enjoyable evening. Hot drinks and ice cream will be available on site.
The Castle and Tidal Mill will be open every day throughout the summer from 10am-4.30pm (last admission at 4pm), with Nest tearoom serving light lunches, refreshments and a range of delicious homemade cakes.
