E-Bike Hire Pausing for Winter

As winter approaches, our e-bike hire scheme will be temporarily paused starting 25 November. We'll be back in the spring to help you explore Pembrokeshire on two wheels once again!

Thank you to everyone who took part this season — we loved seeing so many riders enjoying the beautiful scenery in an eco-friendly way. Stay tuned for updates on our spring reopening.

Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority is trialling an e-bike rental scheme in St Davids. E-Bikes can be hired from Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre and used to explore the area with aid from the electric motor to conquer the area’s steep hills, as well as helping people travel further on two-wheels.

What is an e-bike?

An e-bike (short for electric bicycle) is a bike fitted with an electric motor and a battery, assisting you as you pedal. This means you can cycle uphill or longer distances before getting tired.

Our e-bikes

Our Riese & Müller E-Bikes are comfortable and stylish with step through frames making them easy to mount and dismount. Each bike has a useful basket on the front, making it easy to carry your belongings.

Health benefits

Cycling can reduce the risk of serious illness; help you maintain a healthy weight and boost your mental wellbeing.

Environmental benefits

Help reduce congestion and carbon emissions on the St Davids Peninsula by using one of our e-Bikes to explore the area.

Hire costs

Our e-Bikes are available for daily rental at a cost of £20 per bike, per day.

Booking instructions

You can book the e-bikes using the free mobile phone app “MOQO”. You can download the app for free from the Apple App Store (opens in new window) or Google Play Store (opens in new window).

You will need to sign in with your personal details, including payment details, and then read and accept the terms and conditions.

How to use the MOQO app

Once you have completed the steps above, you will be ready to book one of the e-bikes. When you open the MOQO app, you will see available bikes at the bottom of the screen, or you can search and book at the top of the screen.

When you finish the booking, you are ready to pick up the bike.

To unlock the bike, you need to be near it. Make sure you unlock the bike using the app before moving the bike – an alarm will sound if the bike is moved while still locked on the app. Once unlocked, you will now be able to make use of the e-bike.

You can lock the bike temporarily through the app, but please don’t click “Return e-bike” until you are back at Oriel y Parc and ready to return the bike.

Returning the e-bike

Please ensure you return the e-bike to Oriel y Parc at the time specified in your booking, remember to give yourself enough time to cycle back to the Visitor Centre.

As this scheme is currently running for a trial period, we would welcome your feedback.

Please remember to share your e-bike adventures with us on social media!
