Outdoor Mobility Scheme: Enhancing Access Along the Pembrokeshire Coast
The Outdoor Mobility Scheme, led by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, is a pioneering initiative that improves accessibility and inclusivity for both residents and visitors. It enables individuals with mobility challenges to explore and enjoy the breathtaking Pembrokeshire coastline and wider Park areas by offering:
- Year-round access to some of Pembrokeshire’s most scenic coastal and Park locations.
- Opportunities for people with mobility challenges to experience and enjoy natural spaces that would otherwise be inaccessible.

Building on 19 years of providing all-terrain and beach wheelchairs, the scheme now offers a wider range of accessibility resources, including:
- Roll-out trackways – for smoother navigation over uneven surfaces.
- All-terrain rollators – providing extra stability on rugged ground.
- Mobile hoists – assisting with safe and easy transfers.
- Mobile ramps – improving access to rented accommodation.
- Portable hearing loops – allowing individuals to fully participate in activities with friends and family.
